Pray for Your Kids

Friday, March 6, 2009

On this Fatherhood Friday I though it would be good to remind myself to pray for my children. It's the most important thing I do for them yet it so often slips my mind.

I'm getting a little reflective here so bear with me. I remember how amazing it was to hold each of them just after they were born. Perfect little people with all the potential in the world. I remember how small the pinky toes were when they were babies and how it looked like they could pop right off...These kids are so cool and such a blessing.

Back to prayer... There is a lot of good in the world but there is also evil. This is why we need to pray, asking that God will protect our children from evil and give us wisdom we need to be the parent He wants us to be.

God,

Thank you for blessing me with three great kids. I pray that their lives will glorify you. Protect them as they grow. Give me the wisdom to train them, teach them and love them and your Son loves us. Help me keep it all in perspective and not over react to the little stuff. Keep them in your protection today, In Jesus...

Amen.

Fathers must constantly pray for their children and teach them to pray for themselves and others.

Amen.

Try as I might to remember her when she was a little peanut... it all just seemed like such a blur.

Awesome reminder for the prayer.

That is an awesome post. I am not overly religious but I believe in God and should pray for my 3 kids as they mean the world to me.
